George Weymouth

George Lewis Weymouth, 91, of Sopchoppy, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, in Gainesville, Florida.Born September 5, 1934, in Hendricksville, Indiana, George was the son of William and Martha (Hayes) Weymouth. He devoted his working years to the State of Florida Department of Wildlife, retiring as a taxidermist. Through his work and throughout his life, George held a deep appreciation for wildlife, the outdoors, and the natural world.George enjoyed fishing, sculpting, painting, wood carving, and making arrowheads. His creativity, craftsmanship, and love of nature were reflected in the many pursuits that brought him enjoyment over the years.He is survived by his children, Michael Weymouth and Rose Marie Craft; his grandchildren, Andrew Weymouth, David Weymouth, Francis Craft, Luke Craft, and Jackie Craft; and his sister, Nancy Lunblad.George was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Patty.Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, Indiana. William Kirby, Jr.

William E. "Bill" Kirby Jr., 89, of Worthington, passed away peacefully at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Greene County General Hospital. He was born August 22, 1937, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of William E. Kirby Sr. and Carolyn (Payton) Raves. Bill worked for most of his life in the coal-mining industry, including at Minnehaha Coal Mine and MX Coal Company. He was a member of the Worthington American Legion, the Linton Elks Lodge, and the United Mine Workers of America. He was an avid mushroom hunter and enjoyed collecting guns and playing softball. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family and his beloved dog, Duke. Bill is survived by his son, Michael Kirby (Maryann); grandchildren, Joshua Kirby, Rachel Banek Kirby (Joe), Sarah Saldivar (Jason), Anna Ossewaarde (Brian), and Melanie Kirby;  special companion; Wilma Cochran; his sister, Earlene Johnson (James); 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; his niece, Jamie Johnson; and his favorite dog, Duke. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Genevieve Kirby; his brother, Tom Kirby; and his stepfather, Barnie Raves. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington, with Pastor John Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the funeral home. Joseph Sanders

Joseph “Joe” Allen Sanders, 66, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer, Indiana.Joe was born April 13, 1960, in Linton, Indiana, to Edwin and Donna (Welsh) Sanders. He was a 1978 graduate of Owen Valley High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Joe dedicated many years to the Bloomington Police Department, retiring after a respected career in law enforcement.Joe found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful: reading, cooking, riding motorcycles, and, above all, sharing time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his service, his steady presence, and the love he held for those closest to him.He is survived by his children, Heather Sanders; Hana (Josh) Dodds; Holli (Bradley) Sterrett; and Hunter (Colte) Sanders. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kit Collier, Rhett Dodds, Waylon Sterrett, Harlan Sanders, Huxley Sanders, and Elwyn Sanders; and by his siblings, Hilda Denny and Roe Sanders.Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Donna Sanders, and his brothers, Bob Sanders and Dan Sanders.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 N.
