Larry Blevens

Larry Ray Blevens, 88, of Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 11:12 A.M. on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Greene County General Hospital.He was born at home in Linton on May 27, 1938, to Ray Blevens and Frances Marie (Allee) Blevens.Larry was a lifelong farmer who took great pride in caring for his livestock and working on the farm. He especially enjoyed tending to his 150 cattle and 200 pigs.A devoted supporter of White River Valley athletics, Larry was known as a “105% fan.” He could often be found cheering on WRV teams at sporting events near and far, and he also enjoyed watching sports on television.Larry was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Lyons.He is survived by his loving wife, Nellie (Roach) Blevens; his nephews, Ron Dowdy (Editha), Gregg Dowdy (Dianna), niece, Cindy Riggins (Grant); his cousin, Dennis (Jan) Allee and their daughter, Shelly Allee.He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Wilma Dowdy; and his cousin, Melba Wright.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Prairie Chapel Cemetery, with Joshua Riggins officiating.Memorial contributions may be made in Larry’s honor to the WRV Athletic Department or the Church of Christ in Lyons.Arrangements have been entrusted to Welch & Cornett Funeral Home of Walton Funeral Service Inc.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.welchcornett.com.

Kimberly "Kim" Spencer

Kimberly "Kim" Allan Spencer, 67, of Lyons, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Born January 7, 1959, in Conneaut, Ohio, Kim was the beloved son of Robert and Marlene (Whelpley) Spencer. Kim lived a life defined by service, hard work, and the many ways he showed up for the people around him. After graduating from Conneaut High School, he proudly joined the United States Navy, serving his country from 1977 until 1996. His military career stretched the world from Japan, Italy, and state side, eventually bringing him to southern Indiana, where he completed his final duties at the NSWC Detachment at Crane. To those who knew him best, Kim was someone who could fix, build, repair, or figure out nearly anything. A gifted woodworker, carpenter, builder, and electronics electrician, he earned the title of a true "Jack of All Trades." He took pride in working with his hands and in using his talents to help others - often finding a solution when no one else could. Kim also found great joy in bowling and in the friendships built around the lanes. From 1996 to 2016, he owned and operated the Strike Zone Bowling Center in Loogootee, creating a place where friends, families, and community members could gather, laugh, compete, and make lasting memories. His love for bowling was only matched by his appreciation for the people who shared it with him. He was a faithful member of the Odon Church of the Nazarene and was also involved with the Loogootee American Legion and the Shoals Eagles Lodge. Kim valued fellowship, service, and the sense of belonging he found within his church and community. Above all, Kim loved his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of more than 47 years, Barbara Jean (Davis) Spencer; his sons, Patrick (Janice) Spencer and Matthew (Heather) Spencer; his grandchildren, Christopher Spencer and Christena Spencer; and his siblings, Robert Spencer, Thomas Spencer, Michael Spencer, and Melissa Spencer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marlene Spencer. Kim will be remembered for his steady presence, his resourceful hands, his dedication to his country and community, and the love he gave to his family. His life touched many, and the lessons, laughter, and memories he leaves behind will continue to be treasured by all who knew him. A service to celebrate Kim's life will be held at the Odon Church of the Nazarene at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, of Walton Funeral Service. Sandra Clifford

Sandra E. Clifford, 90, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 9:36 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Autumn Trace, surrounded by the love and presence of her children. Born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1936, in Bicknell, Sandra was the cherished daughter of Irvin and Florence (Kettelhut) Telligman. Her Valentine's Day birth seemed fitting for someone whose life was defined by love - love for her family, her faith, her work, and the simple blessings she found in each day. Sandra attended Freelandville High School and married the love of her life, M. Wayne Clifford, on August 30, 1952. Together they built a life centered on family and raised three children: Teresa, Elizabeth, and Thomas. Sandra and Wayne shared many years of marriage, memories, and devotion before his passing. For 30 years, Sandra was a dedicated employee of General Electric in Linton. She was proud of her work and valued the friendships and sense of purpose it brought to her life. Her loyalty, steady nature, and quiet strength were qualities that those who knew her admired. Sandra's faith remained an important part of her life. She was a member of Saron United Church of Christ and, in her later years, attended Lincoln Christian Church alongside family. She found comfort in her faith and in the fellowship of her church communities. Above all else, Sandra loved being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She found joy in tending her garden, losing herself in a good book, and - most especially - spending time with the people she loved. Her family will remember her warm presence, her devotion, and the many ways she made those around her feel cared for. Sandra is survived by her children, Teresa (Tarry) Egnew, Elizabeth (Cody) Alsman, and Thomas (Jeanine) Clifford; grandchildren, Travis (Heather) Egnew, Tera (Alex) Knepp, Tracee (Nick) Dixon, Trista (Beau) Baker, Lacey (Lee) McDonald, Breann Alsman, Garrett Alsman, Lauren (Mark) Gardner, Brynne (Travis) Wilkerson, and Taryn (Luke) Jennings; grandson-in-law, Brad Dodson; 23 great-grandchildren; and her brother, William (Kim) Telligman. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, M. Wayne Clifford; her parents, Irvin and Florence Telligman; granddaughter, Tomi Dodson; son-in-law, William Staisch; and siblings, Wayne Tellingman, Marylin Luehrman, and Terrance Telligman. Sandra leaves behind a family deeply grateful for the love, guidance, and example she gave throughout her long life. Though she will be greatly missed, her legacy lives on in the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who were blessed to call her Mom, Grammy, and Great-Grammy. A private family graveside service will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Freelandville, with Cliff Gano officiating.
